Hi my name is Leslie Johnson Clines. I went to school at Ardmore with Lucas, but I first met him at Elkton where my then boyfriend lived. I first want to say how sorry I am for your family and Lucas' children. I also want to share a very fond memory I have of Lucas.
My boyfriend from Elkton had broken up with me on July 4th and was the same day I had come back from the beach. I went with my mom to the Piggly Wiggly, where Lucas worked at the time, to buy groceries. I was telling Lucas what had happened and he was so sweet, as usual. Well, I was sitting at my house about 9:30 and I heard a truck pull up outside. Hoping it was my boyfriend I got up and ran outside. To my surprise, it was Lucas! He had a whole bag of fireworks! We shot fireworks for almost an hour. He made me laugh and cry!! He did this as a true friend. I hate that after graduation I didn't keep in touch with him....
Our class didn't have a 5 or 10 year reunion, but thanks to Myspace a lot of us have reunited. We are now planning a 12 1/2 year reunion for this fall. We have lost 4 alumni from our class and we are doing a memorial for each one. I hope you don't mind I copied Lucas's Senior picture for our memorial. We are planning a family day as well for each alumni and their children. We would love to have Lucas's children come and we could tell them all kinds of stories about their daddy LOL!! Three years ago on this day we were all mourning you , we were all remembering the last things that were said and unsaid. We knew we had lost not only a son , but a farther, an uncle, a cousin, a best friend.

I remeber a couple weeks back when i wasn't going so good you were here to save me from myself. I guess you were always good at saving everybody.
